The CDT-WEST Medical Center is located in Longerich, peaceful Cologne district.
The distance from the clinic to Cologne Bonn Airport (Konrad Adenauer International Airport) is 25 km.
ADVANTAGES OF CDT-WEST
- Modern equipment. The CDT-WEST specialists apply innovative German-made devices — Siemens Somatom 64-section CT and Siemens 1.5 Tesla AERA MRI. Therefore, doctors carry out high-quality diagnostic screening to make an accurate diagnosis.

DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY
Doctors apply diagnostic techniques of the latest generation — CT, MRI, and PET-CT. They conduct such types of radiological tests as:
- MRI enterography or MRI Sellink (gastrointestinal tract screening)
- Magnetic resonance defecography (diagnosing of the pelvic organs defections)
- Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (examining the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas)
- MRI of the prostate
- CT and MR angiography (non-invasive methods of the blood vessels examination)
- CT scan of bones.
RADIATION THERAPY
The CDT-WEST doctors specialize in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of:
- gastrointestinal tract
- respiratory tract
- genitourinary system
- mammary glands
- head and neck
- nervous system and dura mater.
Radiotherapy is also used to treat joints diseases and inflammations.
Radiation therapists apply Elekta linear accelerators made by a Swedish company to affect the tumor accurately and do not harm healthy tissues.
Each device is equipped with the camera system. Therefore, doctors control the posture of the human body during the procedure, and accelerators adjust to the patient's breathing.
Radiation therapy methods
Depending on the type of tumor and its location, doctors conduct the following types of radiotherapy:
- 3D-conformal radiation therapy for adapting the rays to the shape of cancer and protecting healthy tissue from the adverse effects.
- Intensively modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for the radiation dose distribution over the tumor to get it out of the body completely.
- Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) for generating a three-dimensional image of the tumor and controlling the accuracy of the irradiation zone to preserve healthy cells.
- Volumetric Arc Radiation Therapy (VMAT) for treating tumors located close to vital organs — the prostate gland, rectum, female genitals, head, neck, and spinal cord. VMAT takes about 2 minutes (8 times faster than IMRT).
- Radiosurgery for affecting tumor with a high dose of radiation. Doctors use radiosurgery to treat tumors of the brain, liver, and lungs. A patient needs only 1 session compared to radiotherapy.
- Deep inspiration breath hold radiation therapy (DIBH) for treatment lungs, mammary glands, lymph nodes oncology. The system adjusts to the patient's movements during breathing and preserves healthy tissues. The technique allows avoiding complications (i.e., ischemic heart disease).
- Surface guided radiation therapy (SGRT) for breast, brain, and neck cancer treatment.
SERVICES FOR INTERNATIONAL PATIENTS
People receive treatment in an outpatient and inpatient basis.
The CDT-WEST specialists determine the patient's medical setting according to their health condition and treatment plan.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the treatment of my illness at the StTh-West Center in Cologne Longerich, Graseggerstr. 105 H.
I received an appointment very quickly at the request of my oncologist.
The briefing session about radiation therapy and the procedure was conducted by the attending physician himself.
My wife was also present at this session.
Regarding my illness, everything was very informative and understandable.
Questions that I or my companion asked the doctor were answered correctly and kindly.
Following the session, my technical radiation therapy was set up directly by the staff, including labeling, monitoring, and storage on my personal chip card.
Soon, about a week later, I showed up for my first radiation therapy appointment and received all subsequent radiation therapy appointments, which meant I received radiation therapy immediately afterward every day, except on weekends.
The radiation therapy is administered by medical technicians.
All the staff were always very friendly and helpful. Questions are also answered, explaining what is being done and what it is good for.
I often saw the doctor in the background in the radiation room next to the treatment room at the computer with staff.
Regularly, after about the fourth or fifth radiation treatment, there is a discussion about the patient's condition with the attending physician, either before or after the radiation treatment in the patient's spacious private changing room.
It may sound a bit strange (in the changing room), but I personally found it very personal, pleasant, direct, and ultimately very effective.
I wholeheartedly recommend this Radiation Therapy Center Cologne Longerich!
P.S. This therapy center is a separate, free-standing, modern building near the Holy Spirit Hospital.
This building is solely dedicated to radiation treatment. Everything is very clear and well-structured.
With the personal chip card, you log in and out by placing it on your wrist. In the open waiting room, you will be called via a large screen using your chip number.
Questions are always answered and assistance is provided at the open patient reception desk next to the waiting room.
You can also get your taxi ticket here if you need it.
There are always plenty of free parking spaces directly in front of the building.
You can also get off the car directly in front of the entrance as a patient.
All in all, very pleasant.
I have always been very friendly and polite to the people in this hospital.
Yes, you get that same kindness back here.

Truly professional, effective, compassionate and respectful. Before starting therapy, they analyzed all the documents, contacted other hospitals where I was being treated to get as much information as possible about my disease, and before I started, they explained to me my state of health and the consequences of radiation therapy, dedicating an hour and a half to me for this. After radiotherapy, I was scheduled for a review of the effectiveness of the radiotherapy and the stability of the health condition. I would like to highlight the kindness of the staff and the respect with which they treat the patients, all developed in a quiet, clean and bright place that helps the patient relax and feel when in a physical and psychological situation, difficult and stressful, Thank you for everything

I was there for four weeks of treatment and would like to thank you very much for the excellent care. A special thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff who administered the radiation therapy. The organization is also very good; the appointments were great, always at the same time, and there was no waiting time. Parking is available right in front of the door. I felt very well cared for.
