Specialists of Heart Center Bad Krozingen are devoted to cure heart diseases. Variety of services offered by the center grows constantly. 42 years after founding the following specializations are available:
Cardiosurgery – doctors of this department can offer any medical intervention proven by modern science. Cutting edge equipment is used for surgeries like coronary artery bypass grafting or cardiac valve interventions.
The following services are available in cardiosurgery department:
- Surgery and correction for different heart valvular diseases
- Aorta surgery
- Surgeries on vessels and heart valves
- bypass surgery (all types), including open heart bypass surgery and surgery without sternotomy

- Surgery of abdominal, thoracic and other aneurisms
Cardiology – headed by leading specialist MD Buettner, the department offers services for patients with different heart disorders. The center includes an invasive division where 8 cardiac catheterization labs are working. Every day cardiovascular dilatations are recapitulated and stents are installed.
Heart rhythm center – a specialized department where cardiac rhythm disorders are treated. Every day the specialists of the center install various types of defibrillators and pacemakers, even the very complicated biventricular pacemakers, and conduct ablation treatment.
Angiology department is a division where both conservative and surgical treatment for peripheral vessels (vessels that are not in the vicinity of heart, e.g. brain vessels) is offered regardless of complexity level.
Judging by the department list, Bad Krozingen is an ideal place for visitors with different disorders, be it high blood pressure, post-infarction condition, any blood vessel pathology or rare cardiovascular disorders.
Today Heart Center Bad Krozingen is on top-ten list of best hospitals in the country. It is the only one that has such specialization and 5 years ago it became one of the 2 most popular medical centers in Germany.
The center is also proud of other figures. Since the start in 1972 more than 30 000 open heart surgeries have been performed. The quantity of minimal invasive interventions using a catheter reached 150 000 six years ago. This is the reason for permanent increase of patients’ number. Every year more than 16 000 inpatients are treated here.

Ausgezeichnetes Krankenhaus. Vorbildlich, ohne Stress und Hektik. Ich war zweimal da, immer top zufrieden. Kann ich jedem/jeder mit gutem Gewissen empfehlen.

I highly recommend the Obesity Center in Bad Krozingen!
From the very beginning, I felt incredibly well cared for there. The entire medical team is not only top-notch in terms of expertise, but also great as people – they take their time, listen, and make you feel safe. The nursing staff was also friendly, empathetic, and helpful at all times.
After my gastric sleeve surgery, I received excellent care in the recreation room. I felt like everyone really wanted the best for me, and that helped me enormously in recovering quickly.
A huge thank you to the entire team – you do a fantastic job! I can wholeheartedly recommend the center."

Ich hatte einen Verschluss der rechten Beckenarterie pAVK IIb. Der Eingriff fand am 21.08.2019 gegen 16:00 Uhr statt. Es wurde ein ca. 10 cm langer Stent in die rechte Beckenarterie gesetzt (Arteria iliaca externa rechts). Am 22.08.2019 um ca. 13:00 Uhr wurde ich dann wieder entlassen.Stand am 31.08.2019Der Puls an der rechten Ferse ist im Gegensatz zu vorher gut fühlbar und zügiges Gehen von ca. 60 Minuten auch mit Steigungen ist ohne Beschwerden im rechten Bein wieder möglich.

Das Pflegepersonal aber auch die Ärzte waren immer sehr freundlich,man war zu jeder Zeit immer informiert. Ein riesen Dank an all die Ärzte die super Arbeit geleistet haben.

A truly wonderful clinic where the entire team is dedicated to the patients—both doctors and nursing staff. There are even specialized nurses for the elderly to prevent disorientation. Exemplary👍
The surgery went very well, the preoperative briefings were excellent, and we were kept informed throughout. When asked, the doctors were happy to take the time to explain all procedures in detail.
The clinic is very well equipped: bright rooms, views of the greenery, and clean. During our stay, there was even a classical piano concert in the foyer in the evening to give the patients a change of scenery.
The food and all the catering are of an excellent standard—couldn't be bettered in any restaurant👍 You can pour yourself fresh sparkling water, and upon request, you can get specialty coffees from the vending machine—at no extra charge.
There is a lot of greenery around the clinic, so patients can take walks in nature. The green space is lovingly maintained, including a green area with a hanging wisteria 🤩 Right next to the clinic is a small kindergarten (presumably for the children of the staff).
In short: This clinic does everything to ensure that patients and their families feel comfortable. By the way: the surgery (new heart valve) went very well, and the patient was able to leave the clinic after 72 hours. Our deepest thanks to all the doctors and the entire team for their outstanding work!

Ich habe mich während meines Aufenthaltes im Universitäts-Herzzentrum Freiburg - Bad Krotzingen sehr gut betreut gefühlt. Die Ärzte und das Pflegepersonal waren äußerst kompetent, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Auch die Betreuung nach der OP ist lobend zu erwähnen. Meine OP war im November 2016 und seither werde ich regelmäßig nach meinem Befinden gefragt. So etwas habe ich noch in keiner anderen Klinik erlebt. Ich würde mich jederzeit wieder im Universitäts-Herzzentrum behandeln lassen.

Beste Klinik in Deutschland. Ärzte sowie Pflegepersonal suchen ihresgleichen. Hatte schwere OP. fühlte mich sehr gut aufgehoben. Klinik ist Ausgestattet wie ein 5 Sterne Hotel. Durch die gute Pflege war ich nach 2 Wochen fast wieder Fit wie vor der OP. OP an der Bauchaorta.
