Prof. Dr. Samet Yardımcı is a specialist in obesity and metabolic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and general surgery
After completing his primary and secondary education in Antakya, he was admitted to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1997 to begin his medical education. In 2003, the same year he graduated from medical school, he passed the medical specialization exam and started his General Surgery residency at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital.
Between 2008 and 2009, he received training in cancer surgery and organ transplantation at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Hermann Hospitals in Houston, USA. Upon returning to Turkey, he ranked first in the nationwide subspecialty exam for general surgeons in 2009. Following this achievement, he completed his Gastrointestinal Surgery (digestive system surgery) training at Turkey High Specialization Hospital between 2009 and 2012.
In 2012, he became Turkey’s youngest Gastrointestinal Surgeon and was appointed to Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital. Between 2012 and 2018, he lectured to medical students at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine and general surgery residents, actively participated in various training programs for patients and surgeons, and worked in advanced laparoscopic surgery, obesity, and metabolic surgery. Additionally, he played an active role in establishing organ transplantation and inflammatory bowel disease surgery units. In March 2017, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor after successfully passing the examination.

I had surgery at Istanbul Okan University about four months ago. Dr. Samet and his team meticulously cared for me day and night, both during the surgery and during the weight loss phase, and they continue to do so. With their gentle and humble approach, I feel very fortunate to have embarked on this journey with Dr. Samet and his team. 🙏🏻❤️

I have had a weight problem since childhood. Normally, I am even afraid of needles, but I decided very quickly to have a gastric sleeve surgery. I knew that I did not want to continue my life like this. Since I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries, I started to worry about my weight even more than before. When I said that I wanted to have a gastric sleeve, the only name that everyone recommended as 'an expert in this field' was Prof. Dr. Samet Yardımcı. I met Samet Hoca a month ago. After meeting with him, both my mother and I said that I wished I had decided to have this surgery much earlier instead of waiting until I was 27. Samet Hoca and his consultants never left me alone during the surgery. I had some pain and nausea during the first two days of my stay in the hospital, but when I returned home on the third day, there was nothing left of these complaints. I was even able to go to the hairdresser on the 7th day after the surgery. Today is my 11th day and I continue my normal life. Although the liquid period was difficult, I felt more relaxed today when I switched to puree. The following developments occurred during this process; I don't have heartburn, I quit smoking, I can wake up early in the morning without feeling tired. I hope it continues like this. In this process, it is very valuable to feel support not only physically but also psychologically. Samet Hoca and his team are really lucky in this regard. I wanted to write openly because maybe this comment will give an idea to someone who thinks like me and has hesitations. In short, I am glad I did. I understand better every day how right a decision I made to trust Samet Hoca. It is a great chance to have such a doctor behind this process that changed my life.

It's been a very good experience, they're very generous and very energetic. The reception was very hospitable and fun to talk to, the place looked very clean and fancy. The dietician was good they wrote a program for food. And doctor samet is one of the best doctors to ever preform a surgery with. Not only is he good as a surgeon but also as a person. I suggest him and his team to anyone who would like to live a healthy life.

Excellent Experience and Care After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I'd like to share my experience with the gastric sleeve surgery I recently underwent.
I was extremely pleased with the care and treatment I received during my hospital stay.
• My Doctor / Surgical Team: My surgeon, Samet Bey, and my surgical team were very efficient and attentive. They patiently answered all my questions from beginning to end and made me feel confident. Thanks to their expertise, my surgery went smoothly.
• The Nurse and Staff: All the nurses and hospital staff on the ward were wonderful. They were incredibly compassionate, friendly, and always helpful. I'm grateful for their care and support during my recovery.
