Rehabilitation Center in Pforzheim (Germany), was founded by two doctors-rehabilitators, a married couple - Ryud Geerlofsom and Daniela Dorshner-Geerlofs. By combining professional expertise and the latest scientific discoveries in the field of neuroscience, they have developed a unique restorative program, which was successfully used in their center Zentrum de Rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation Center Pforzheim practices an innovative concept for quick, high-quality and stable recovery. The main goal of the center - restoration of motor function, speech function, cognitive abilities of patients, as well as the restoration of their independence in everyday life.
Zentrum der Rehabilitation specializes in rehabilitation after:
- craniocerebral injuries of varying severity;
- spinal cord injury;
- cerebral palsy;
- stroke;
- in multiple sclerosis.
Special aspectes of rehabilitation center
- effective program that is selected individually;
- personal trainers (maximum 2) for the whole duration of rehabilitation;
- 6-8 hours of rehabilitation therapy;
- 5 days a week treatments;
- the latest equipment (locomotive simulators - Lokomat, Vector Gate System, ERIGO);
- highly qualified staff, devoted to his work;
- 25 comfortable seats stationary;
- many years of experience with foreign patients (CIS).

The equipment and techniques of the Pforzheim center |

Robotic rehabilitation walk. It is a robotoortez that supports and automates the patients walk, designed for people with spinal cord injuries or diseases. Returns equability of distance, has a positive effect on the tone of the muscles, activates them, acts as osteoporosis prophylaxis. |

Combines verticalization patient step by step with the cyclical movements and the load on the legs. |
|
|
It allows the therapist to change the load parameters and adjust the degree of automatic safety net to support individual patients. During the lessons the unit conducts training analysis. |

I.N.P.U.T. (Intensive therapy is based on neuroplasticity) |
The unique technique of rehabilitation, which is practiced only in the Zentrum der Rehabilitation. It aims to restore the lost functions of the body. It consists of a set of Bobath therapy, chiropractic and world innovations from the field of CNS research. |

Hippotherapy |
Therapeutic Riding. It has a beneficial effect on cognitive function and the patient's psyche. |

E.Taub therapy method (CIMT) |

Accommodations
- Private apartments for each patient;
- double Apartment for patient and companion (in each room: private bathroom, free Wi-Fi, plasma TV);
- availability of apartment suites;
- all apartments are adapted for wheelchairs.
Duration of treatment may vary and is determined individually, on average, in order to achieve a stable result of rehabilitation, recommended length of the course in 12 weeks.

War bereits 3 Mal dort, habe unglaubliche Fortschritte gemacht, dafür dass es zuerst hieß: Das wird nix mehr! Kommentar der Ärzte! Mit genügend Motivation komme ich Stück für Stück meinem Ziel näher. Ich kann das Zentrum nur jedem Neurologischen Patient empfehlen!

Einmalig ! So etwas gibt es einfach nirgend wo. Die Mühe und Geduld vom Therapeuten mit Patienten, haben uns begeistert. Wir sind so glücklich, dass es so etwas gibt. Und das ist Geerlofs-Zentrum im Pforzheim!

Meiner Meinung nach die einzige Möglichkeit wieder auf die Beine zu kommen. Ich habe einen Inkompletten Querschnitt und kann mich nach 19 Wochen Therapie jetzt ein wenig am Rollator fortbewegen. 6Std Therapie täglich gibts nur hier... Therapeuten sind sehr gut und Familiär! Danke und bis bald!

Ich hatte einen fürchterlichen Autounfall, und darf dass laufen nochmal lernen. Ich war deshalb schonmal in Pforzheim ....es hat mir unendlich gut getan.... das Team ist wunderbar.... freu mich schon aufs zweite Mal im Februar '19 !!

Nett und freundlich, wenn man bereit ist auch mitzumachen, waren bereits 3 Mal dort und ich habe Megafortschritte gemacht! Kann nur zu allen sagen wenn man sich bemüht geht's! Zaubern tun die aber auch hier nicht, wie man schon sagt: Von nix, kommt nix!

I am a 36-year-old wheelchair user with tetraspasticity who is learning to walk in therapy. I spent six weeks at the Geerlofs Rehabilitation Center in January 2017 and would like to share my experience with you.
It took an incomparable amount of effort, trouble, and worry to navigate through this jungle of applications, objections, negotiations, arguments, certificates, prescriptions for physiotherapy, doctor's visits, and loans. Not to mention the massive debt I got myself into.
Why did I do that?
At the introductory meeting, I was promised the moon! After the meeting, I was more enthusiastic and confident than I had been in years.
Unfortunately, the facility was completely unable to keep its promises!
What I was promised: Approximately 4 hours of therapy daily, always with two therapists, running training, an innovative and individualized therapy concept, trained and competent therapists, and on-site nursing staff (due to my disability, I rely on nursing assistance).
My stated goal was to further develop my walking ability. However, my legs were tied down several times and I was asked to exercise my arms. Even if there was a deeper purpose behind it, I wasn't informed.
The therapists were constantly changing! After I didn't get along with one therapist, I repeatedly asked to be assigned someone else. This person was completely unable to adapt to my condition, provide meaningful therapy, or explain their actions.
She said, "I'm just a sports physio, and I can't do anything with you neuros anyway."
So, I would seriously question the competence of individual employees.
Ultimately, I was given a bottle of water and made sure I drank enough fluids – but the highly touted, diverse range of therapies was nowhere to be seen.
I was simply told to my face that "nothing more could be done" with me!
I was told I was "wasting my time" and "you'll never be able to stand on your own anyway."
Once, I was left sitting next to the bench for hours!
No wonder I also briefly became ill during this time and developed a fever of 102 degrees Fahrenheit – I was urged, with the utmost insistence, to come to therapy, even though I felt terrible.
I was also promised a caregiver who would "take care of all my needs" – the reality was that an assistant came by three times a day to handle the bare minimum. And since the therapy placed such great emphasis on me drinking plenty of fluids, these three visits were obviously far too few!
Although I'm actually continent, I was forced to wear incontinence pants – i.e., diapers – because the staff was completely overwhelmed.
In addition, even though I was only there for six weeks, I had to change rooms at least three times – and please don't forget that I'm a quadriplegic in a wheelchair! I was expected to pack my bags and move around on my own without help!
Although I expressed my concerns in a very friendly manner several times, no one really addressed my concerns. I was left to my own devices; my words weren't taken seriously, and I didn't even get a hint that I was being listened to! Quite the opposite – I was made to feel like I wasn't being taken seriously at all.
I've never come home from "rehab" or "therapy" so disappointed, depressed, demotivated, and dejected.
It wouldn't be a lie if I said that this devastating experience caused me psychological damage.
Only thanks to my new physiotherapy at home can I now walk with a walker.
I would like to warn everyone not to invest their private money here – this rehab did not help me at all!
