Bulent Erol is an orthopedic oncologist and pediatric surgeon based in Istanbul. He earned the First Prize in Orthopedic Oncology at the XXIV National Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Congress. Prof. Erol treats bone tumors and performs restorative joint surgeries at VM Medical Park Pendik Hospital.

Specialization and Surgical Expertise

Prof. Erol treats bone and soft tissue tumors in both children and adults. He performs joint reconstructions and limb-sparing surgeries to preserve functionality. The doctor treats conditions like arthrosis, hip fractures, and osteoporosis. Because he specializes in reconstruction, his surgical repertoire includes:

Knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction
Arthroscopic meniscus repair and rotator cuff surgery
Prosthetic limb and finger placements
Treatment for bone and joint injuries

Academic and Professional Roles

The specialist practices at Marmara University within the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department. He served as a Professor at this institution between 2016 and 2018. Prof. Erol also held roles as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Earlier in his career, he worked as a research assistant and specialist doctor at the university.

International Clinical Training

Prof. Erol completed a fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the USA. This role focused on pediatric orthopedics and traumatology research. He also served as a clinical visitor at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in the United Kingdom. This visit in 2012 focused on orthopedic oncology.

Prof. Erol has received honors for his clinical and experimental research. He won the Akif Şakir Şakar Scientific Award three times between 2001 and 2007. The doctor also earned second place at the Derviş Manizade Awards in 2007. His 2014 first–prize presentation focused on advancements in orthopedic oncology.
