Dr. Chen Yong Gang is an endocrinologist and head of Ultrasound Medicine at Xiamen Humanity Hospital. He has independently performed 10,000 minimally invasive procedures using interventional ultrasound. These procedures use imaging to guide needles or catheters through the skin to treat disease. Dr. Chen pioneered a freehand biopsy technique to achieve precision without auxiliary devices.
Clinical Specialization and Approach
Dr. Chen specializes in minimally invasive tumor therapy and interventional ultrasound. He integrates real-time imaging with precise ablation to treat thyroid conditions. These conditions include hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, and thyroid microcarcinomas. He also treats benign thyroid nodules and metastatic cervical lymph nodes.
The doctor performs ablation for gynecological conditions like uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths in the uterus, while adenomyosis occurs when uterine lining grows into the muscle. His freehand biopsy technique uses a single-handed targeted puncture. This method removes the need for extra guidance tools. It also allows for direct access to the target tissue.
