Dr. Martin Schindl is a senior consultant at the University Hospital of Surgery, Vienna General Hospital. He specializes in surgery of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts. He also focuses on surgical cancer therapy. Dr. Schindl leads the surgical outpatient clinic for pancreatic and biliary diseases. He coordinates the interdisciplinary pancreatic cancer group at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Vienna.

He founded the ABCSG Pancreas Working Group. Dr. Schindl reviews articles for international surgical journals. He is a member of several national and international surgical societies. He also serves on the ethics committee of the Medical University of Vienna. Dr. Schindl has made important contributions to cancer therapy research and patient support programs.

Univ. Prof. Dr. Martin Schindl is an Austrian visceral surgeon specializing in pancreatic, liver, gallbladder, and biliary tract surgery. He graduated in medicine from the University of Vienna in 1993 and qualified as a specialist in surgery in 2000. Since then, he has worked at the Department of Surgery at the Vienna General Hospital (AKH), where he became senior physician in 2005. He earned his habilitation in surgery and is Associate Professor at the Medical University of Vienna, where he heads the Pancreatic Cancer Unit at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. His expertise includes complex pancreatic and hepatobiliary operations, gastrointestinal tumor surgery, hernia repair, and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Schindl has received several awards, including the Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship and the Theodor Billroth Prize, and is widely recognized for his contributions to surgical oncology and research.
