A member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) and winner of the Theodor-Koerner Science Prize.
Dr. Stefan Sacu is an experienced ophthalmologist. He specializes in cataract and retinal surgery, as well as diseases of the macula and retina. Since 1999, he has worked at the Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Vienna. He has taken part in many scientific projects. His research includes new treatments for exudative macular diseases and genetic therapies for hereditary retinal conditions.

Dr. Sacu received the Theodor-Koerner Science Prize in 2003. He is an active member of the DGII and ESCRS. He is known for his clinical and academic work. Dr. Sacu teaches both nursing staff and medical students. He is dedicated to improving eye care with modern techniques and equipment.

Univ. Prof. Dr. Stefan Sacu is an Austrian ophthalmologist and surgeon, specialized in cataract, retinal, and macular diseases. He studied medicine in Vienna, earned his doctorate in 2002, and completed his specialization in ophthalmology and optometry in 2010. Since 2007, he has led the outpatient clinic for diagnosis and therapy of macular diseases at the Medical University of Vienna, treating thousands of patients annually. He also serves as Associate Professor and interim head of the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry, where he directs the Vienna Clinical Trial Center. His research focuses on macular degeneration, genetic retinal disorders, and innovations in imaging and vision science. At Wiener Privatklinik, he provides advanced surgical and medical treatments, including cataract surgery and retinal interventions.
