Performed 6,329 pediatric congenital cardiac surgeries, with expertise in neonatal and complex heart procedures.
Prof. Emin Tireli, MD, is a leading pediatric cardiovascular surgeon. He has performed over 6,329 congenital cardiac surgeries since 1993. He is known worldwide for being one of the first to use the complex Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of the great arteries (TGA).

Dr. Tireli performs more than 100 neonatal cardiac surgeries each year. His expertise includes arterial switch operations, total pulmonary return anomalies, pulmonary banding, and Norwood procedures. He has used hybrid techniques in 15 cases. Dr. Tireli has also completed 30 reconstructions of aortic anomalies and many PDA ligations in extremely low birth weight infants. His work greatly supports neonatal care.

Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon

Born in 1961, Prof. Emin Tireli, M.D., completed secondary and high school educations in İzmir Atatürk High School. He started medical education in School of Medicine, Ege University in 1980. He was awarded the title “Medical Doctor” in 1986.

He started specialty education in Cardiovascular Surgery Department, Istanbul School of Medicine, Istanbul University in 1987.

He was awarded the title “Cardiovascular Surgeon” in 1993.

He was awarded the title “Associate Professor” in 1997 following his studies on the same chair.

Dr. Emin Tireli was awarded the title “Professor” in 2005 and he still works as a faculty member in Cardiovascular Surgery Department, Istanbul School of Medicine.

Prof. Emin Tireli, M.D. has good command of English.

His fields of interest are reconstruction of extremely complex pediatrics cardiac defects including neonatal cardiovascular surgery, aortic and left ventricular surgery and congenital heart surgeries in all age groups.

Prof. Emin Tireli, M.D. has more than 100 articles published in local and international journals.
