Dr. Gonzalo Bernabéu Arias is an accomplished ophthalmologist and one of HM Hospitales experts. He is best known for performing the world's first successful corneal transplantation. He has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, as well as postgraduate and emergency medicine courses. He has a long history of clinical and surgical ophthalmology experience, and has been a lecturer in ophthalmology and cataract surgery.
