Prof Giuseppe Speziale

Prof. Giuseppe Speziale is a cardiac surgeon specializing in minimally invasive valve surgery and restorative heart procedures. He received the “Top Doctors Awards” in 2021 for his work. Prof. Speziale is the National Coordinator of Cardiac Surgery for GVM Care &– Research.

Specialization and Surgical Approach

Prof. Speziale treats valve diseases using minimally invasive surgical methods. He is an expert in minimally invasive mitral valve repair. His practice also includes thoracic aortic surgery and pulmonary hypertension treatment. Additionally, he helps patients with coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis.

In research, he explores non-invasive approaches for treating cardiac arrhythmias and tricuspid surgery. He led National Research Council projects on myocardial infarction and coronary bypass technologies. These projects included new technologies for cardiopulmonary and normothermic bypass. He has authored over 90 publications in journals like the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
