Univ.-Prof. Dr. Rupert Menapace is a renowned Austrian ophthalmologist and internationally recognized expert in cataract and refractive surgery. He studied medicine in Vienna, where he also completed his specialist training in ophthalmology and later became Professor at the Medical University of Vienna. As head of the Intraocular Lens (IOL) Department, he has pioneered techniques in cataract surgery and lens implantation, introducing innovative intraocular lens concepts that are now used worldwide. His clinical expertise includes cataract surgery, implantation of advanced IOLs, laser vision correction, and anterior segment reconstruction. Prof. Menapace has authored numerous scientific publications and has significantly contributed to the development of modern microsurgical ophthalmology. He practices at Wiener Privatklinik, combining cutting-edge surgical methods with extensive academic and clinical experience.
