Professor Flohe has extensive experience as a practicing surgeon. He underwent training and internship in clinics in Germany and the USA. Professor Flohe, an internationally recognised expert in the treatment of upper limb injuries, who helps more than 2,700 patients each year.

He is actively engaged in scientific activities, publishes articles and monographs on the issues of hand microsurgery, makes presentations on this subject.

He participates in the study, development and implementation of progressive methods of therapy for hand injuries. He acts as a consultant in limb microsurgery not only in Germany but also abroad, and his authority is recognised by orthopaedic specialists in various countries.

Head of the Emergency Intensive Care & Serious Injuries Unit at the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma — since 2011.
Surgeon, Field Medical Officer at the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan — 2013-2015.
Deputy Director of the Trauma and Hand Surgery Department at the University Hospital Düsseldorf 2009-2014.
