Surgical Experience

After becoming a general surgery specialist in 1996, I served as a General Surgery and Organ Transplantation Specialist at SSK (social insurance institution), for a period of 9 years. In 2005, was granted the title of Associate Professor-General Surgery. Between 2005 and 2012, I established the kidney transplant centers in İzmir Private Kent Hospital, Istanbul Private Gaziosmanpasa Hospital, and Medicalpark Goztepe Hospital respectively, and served as the chief executive of these centers.

I have worked in İzmir Private Kent Hospital since 2013. I established Obesity Clinic at Gazi Hospital, and performed more than 200 gastric reduction operations.

Social Responsibility

I have worked in the management boards of many associations engaging in scientific and social activities, and served as a founding member in some of them.

The most important one of these is that I have served as a coordinator in the project intended for providing 150.000 elementary school students and 5,000 adults with training on organ donation, for a period of 10 years, through various social activities.1

Dr. Ayman is a Medical Doctor and Surgeon specializing in General and Bariatric Surgery, with extensive training and experience in minimally invasive surgery and obesity management.

Doctor earned his Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 2005. He then completed his specialization in General Surgery at the same university in 2016, with a thesis titled "Fast track in minimally invasive colon surgery. He has complete autonomy in the clinical management of complex patients and extensive experience in performing a variety of surgical procedures, including major surgeries. His expertise includes gastric and colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, abdominal wall surgery, videolaparoscopic (VLC) and laparotomic (VLA) procedures, and proctology. He is particularly skilled in performing medium and major surgeries in emergency settings.

Currently, he practices at Maria Cecilia Hospital in Bologna, where he evaluates the degree of obesity and associated conditions. Based on these assessments, he determines the most suitable surgical intervention, such as sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and mini laparoscopic bypass.

He has advanced training in colorectal and abdominal wall surgery from top institutions in Italy and Belgium.

He is an active member of the Italian Society of Obesity Surgery and Metabolic Disorders (S.I.C.OB.) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), contributing to the advancement of bariatric surgery on an international level.

Dr. Ayman is distinguished by his dedication to patient care and his advanced skills in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.

Dr. Metehan Gumus is a general surgeon with expertise in gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and gastric balloon procedures. He also specializes in advanced breast surgery. He has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals. His research focuses on breast cancer, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and new surgical techniques.

Dr. Gumus has presented his work at many international and national conferences. He is dedicated to improving surgical science. His academic work and clinical experience make him a respected expert in his field.

Dr. Mustafa Sıtkı Yüksel is an experienced general surgeon. He specializes in obesity and metabolic surgery. He also performs advanced laparoscopic and cancer-related operations. Dr. Yüksel has completed over 2,000 bariatric surgeries. He has also performed many general surgery procedures, such as umbilical hernia repair, nephrectomy, small intestine resection, and thyroidectomy.

Dr. Yüksel received national board recognition in 2005 and 2016. He is a member of the Turkish Surgery Association, Colorectal Surgery Association, and Minimally Invasive Surgery Association. These memberships show his dedication to professional growth and high standards in his field.

He specialized in General Surgery at Ankara Training and Research Hospital between 2001 and 2006. He worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Ankara Training and Research Hospital between 2006 and 2008 and later at Ordu State Hospital between 2008 and 2013. In 2016, he received the title of Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Izmir University. In 2015, he received the Turkish Surgical Association Proficiency Exam (Board) Certificate of Achievement. He is a member of Turkish Surgical Association, Turkish Colon and Rectum Surgery Association, National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association, and Hepatobiliary Surgery Association. Between 2014 and 2016, he taught many undergraduate and graduate courses at Izmir University Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. M Altan Kaya is a skilled surgeon. He specializes in gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, breast cancer surgery, and hemorrhoidectomy. He completed advanced training in minimally invasive surgery in Hamburg and Strasbourg. Dr. Kaya is dedicated to using the latest techniques to provide the best care for his patients.

He is a member of several respected surgical societies. These include the Turkish Surgical Association, the Society for Colorectal Tumor Surgery, and the European Society of Oncological Surgeons. Dr. Kaya has performed hundreds of complex surgeries. His work has helped improve patient outcomes and raise surgical standards in his field.
