Prof. Dr. Kamil Yalçın Polat is a leading transplantology expert and Head of the Organ Transplantation Center at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul. Dr. Bülent Ünal is a general surgeon and surgical oncologist. He is Head of General Surgery and Surgical Oncology at Florence Nightingale Hospital. He graduated from Çukurova University in 1996. Prof. Abuzer Dirican is a Professor of General Surgery and Surgical Oncology and Head of Department at Florence Nightingale Hospital. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1995. He completed his general surgery training at SSK Ankara in 2000. He served at İnönü University’s Liver Transplant Institute and became a professor in 2017. He also completed a clinical and research fellowship in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery.
He authored the Liver Transplantation chapter in Schwartz’s Principles of Surgery in 2016. His publications cover cholangiocarcinoma, liver transplantation, endocrine surgery, and colorectal surgery. Notable work includes a prospective randomized trial on pilonidal disease and studies on breast cancer–related lymphedema. He also co-authored analyses of 304 living-donor liver transplants and 109 hepatic vein reconstructions.
Professor Aydin is a Turkish transplantologist with over 20 years of experience and expertise in kidney transplant surgery. He has held several positions in transplant departments and centers, and has written 35 scientific papers on the subject. He is a member of various transplant-related organizations.
Dr. Ozden Gul is a general surgeon trained at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. She has decades of surgical experience and is fluent in English.
