Dr. Hilmi Apak is a respected pediatric hematology-oncology specialist with more than 21 years of experience. He is trained in pediatric oncology. Dr. Apak has led advanced treatments, including bone marrow transplantation, leukemia chemotherapy, and CAR T-cell therapy.

He has published 75 international medical articles, showing his strong contribution to pediatric oncology research. Dr. Apak has worked as assistant editor for the Turkish Pediatrics Archives Periodical. He has also held important academic and leadership positions, such as Head of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.

Sema Yılmaz was born on July 30, 1965. She received her undergraduate degree from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty and completed her medical residency training at the Department of Pediatrics at Zeynep Kamil Women's and Children's Health and Diseases Hospital. She also completed her medical subspecialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Cukurova University. Her medical residency thesis was titled "The Relationship Between Morning First Urine Density and Nocturnal Enuresis in Children Aged 3-6 Years", and her medical subspecialty thesis was titled "Comparison of Sphingosine 1-phosphate Receptor 4 Gene Expression in Healthy Children and Neuroblastoma Patients". She started her medical career as a general practitioner. After working as a general practitioner for 4 years, she worked as a doctor researcher at Zeynep Kamil Women's and Children's Health and Diseases Training and Research Hospital for 5 years. She then served as a specialist doctor, assistant professor, and associate professor at various institutions. She worked at Houston MD Anderson, North Carolina-UNC, Boston-Harvard University in the USA. Additionally, she conducted research on cell therapies. She received the title of professor in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Usak Medical Faculty. She is a member of the Turkish Pediatric Oncology Group, European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), Turkish Medical Association, Turkish National Pediatrics Association, Turkish Pediatrics Association, Pediatrics Specialty Academy Association (PUADER), Turkish Immunology Association, Turkish Hematology Association, and Molecular Oncology Association (MOKAD). She currently serves her patients at Koru Hospital. Her medical interests include:

Dr. Ismail Oral Hastaoglu graduated from Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine in 1998. He completed his specialization at Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Center in 2005. He is a member of several professional organizations, including EACTS, ESVS, UVCD, the Phlebology Association, and TKDCD.

Dr. Hastaoglu specializes in coronary bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, congenital heart diseases, heart tumors, and aneurysm treatments. He also has experience in carotid artery operations, aortic aneurysm repair, peripheral artery disease management, and AV fistula procedures. He has made important contributions to cardiovascular surgery.

Op. Dr. Faruk Gençoğlu completed his medical faculty career, which he started at Samsun 19 Mayıs University, by joining the academic staff of Istanbul Cerrahpaşa Cardiology Institute in 2015 and receiving his specialization in 2020. Gençoğlu, who actively took part in approximately 3 thousand cases during this process; He has performed surgery for adult cardiovascular diseases such as adult coronary artery disease, heart valve diseases (aortic-mitral-tricuspid), aortic surgery, carotid surgery, peripheral vascular diseases, venous insufficiency (varicose veins), deep vein thrombosis. Gençoğlu, who restarted cardiac surgery at Batman Training and Research Hospital in 2021, served as the clinical chief of open heart surgery for 2 years.

Prof. Emin Tireli, MD, is a leading pediatric cardiovascular surgeon. He has performed over 6,329 congenital cardiac surgeries since 1993. He is known worldwide for being one of the first to use the complex Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of the great arteries (TGA).

Dr. Tireli performs more than 100 neonatal cardiac surgeries each year. His expertise includes arterial switch operations, total pulmonary return anomalies, pulmonary banding, and Norwood procedures. He has used hybrid techniques in 15 cases. Dr. Tireli has also completed 30 reconstructions of aortic anomalies and many PDA ligations in extremely low birth weight infants. His work greatly supports neonatal care.

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology

Professor Dr. Cenap Zeybek is a respected Pediatric Cardiologist known for his skill in advanced heart procedures. He became an Associate Professor in 2011. In 2017, he was promoted to Professor. This shows his expertise and leadership in pediatric cardiology. Dr. Zeybek has performed many complex surgeries, such as heart valve replacements, open heart operations, and interventional procedures. Kürşat Fidancı is a medical doctor who graduated from GATA Faculty of Medicine in 1999. Between 2000 and 2002, he served as the Chief Physician of the Şırnak Çakırsöğüt Commando Brigade. He completed his residency in Pediatrics from 2002 to 2006 at Istanbul GATA Haydarpaşa Training and Research Hospital. He worked as a Pediatrician at Ankara Beytepe Military Hospital between 2006 and 2009. He completed his subspecialty training in Paediatric Cardiology at GATA Faculty of Medicine Pediatric Cardiology Department from 2010 to 2013. He became an Assistant Professor in 2014 and obtained the title of Associate Professor in April 2016. He worked as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Cardiology at GATA Faculty of Medicine between September 2014 and December 2021.
