A specialist in the digestive system through MIR from the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Barcelona, he received his PhD from the University of Barcelona.

Areas of special interest: storage rhythm disorders, chronic diarrhea, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) and other causes of chronic intestinal inflammation.

Dr. Jose Maria Raventos is a surgeon with 49 years of experience. He specializes in general, abdominal, endocrine, and thyroid surgery. He is known for his advanced laparoscopic skills. Dr. Raventos is also highly experienced in thyroid surgery, including complex thyroid cancer cases.

He has made important contributions to surgical research and education. He has published many scientific articles and is active in several professional associations. Dr. Raventos earned his medical degrees from the University of Barcelona and the University of Minnesota. He completed his residencies at the Red Cross Hospital of Barcelona and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Prof. Dr. med. Karl J. Oldhafer is a Senior Consultant of the Department of General and Abdominal Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the Abdominal Medical Center of the Barmbek Asklepios Hospital and is a specialist in hepatic surgery. His medical interests include radioservice computer-navigated liver surgery, metastasis surgery, surgery using the ultrasonic knife, minimally invasive abdominal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and pancreatic surgery.
