Radiation oncologist

Dr. Ronit El Hasid is the Head of Pediatric Oncohematology and Oncology at Dana Dwek Children’s Hospital (Sourasky). She specializes in bone marrow and umbilical blood transplantation and has conducted over 300 transplantations and published 50 papers and 40 reports. She is a member of American Association for Hematology and Israeli Society for Pediatric Hematooncology, and has previously practiced in the City of Hope Hospital (Los-Angeles) and other medical centers in Israel.

Professor Erol Akgül is an Interventional Neuroradiologist and a member of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology, Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, European Association of Radiology, Turkish Society of Radiology, Turkish Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Turkish Society of Neuroradiology, and Turkish Medical Association.

Coping with gastrointestinal and lung cancer without chemotherapy. Specialists at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Clinic (Ichilov) use an ultra-modern innovative method to combat neuroendocrine tumors. It is based on radionuclide therapy with the radioisotope Lutetium 177 (Lutetium-177). This innovation is a real breakthrough in oncotherapy, because in recent decades the number of cases of this type of cancer has been rapidly growing.

This method is completely new in the world. Today it exists only in Israel, Germany and Sweden.

Its essence is in the use of a new radiopharmaceutical - Lutetium 177 PRRT. The drug is administered intravenously at intervals of 7-8 weeks. With the help of Lutetium, cancer cells are destroyed selectively, without affecting healthy tissues of the body. That is, this method of treatment can literally be called "local radiation therapy". In addition, the drug does not have a toxic effect on the bone marrow and kidneys, destroying the tumor from the inside.

In addition, the use of this method allows patients to avoid severe side effects of chemotherapy, such as vomiting, nausea, pain, alopecia, weakness. It is also important that the treatment is carried out by a special group of medical specialists. Among them: leading doctors, nurses and medical physicists!

All of them work under the supervision of Dr. Inna Ospovat, a leading specialist in the nuclear therapy department at the Ichilov Clinic.

Dr. Taylan Bükülmez is a radiation oncologist at Istinye University Liv Hospital Bahcesehir in Istanbul. He treats breast, prostate, lung, esophageal, and rectal cancers. He uses advanced radiation therapy methods for his patients.

Dr. Bükülmez received his medical degree from Pamukkale University. He completed his specialization at Akdeniz University. Since 2017, he has led the oncology team at Istinye University Liv Hospital. He is known for his focus on patient recovery and new cancer treatments. He has many years of experience at leading oncology centers in Turkey.

Dr. Auala Hubert is a board-certified medical oncologist and radiotherapist with 33 years of clinical experience. She works at Hadassah Medical Center and speaks both English and Hebrew. Dr. Hubert leads the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center. She is also a senior physician in the Oncology Department.

She earned her M.D. from Hadassah University Hospital. She holds board certifications in oncology and radiotherapy. Dr. Hubert has passed USMLE Parts I and II. Dr. Kayihan Engin is a Radiation Oncologist. He earned his medical degree from Uludağ University Medical College in 1983. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Center of Oncology & Nuclear Medicine in Istanbul in 1990. From 1990 to 1994, he pursued a post-doctoral fellowship in Thermoradiotherapy at Thomas Jefferson University in the USA.
