Gastroenterologist

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulcabbar Kartal is a distinguished colorectal and general surgeon practicing at Anadolu Medical Center in Istanbul. With over 17 years of surgical experience, he specializes in colorectal surgery, HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) for peritoneal cancers, bariatric surgery, and minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Kartal graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2007 and completed his general surgery specialization at Istanbul Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital (2007-2013). He served as Assistant Professor at Istanbul Okan University (2016-2020) before receiving his Associate Professor title in 2020. In 2021, he earned the prestigious FEBS-C certification from the European Society of Coloproctology and became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. Kartal has published over 40 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and is an active member of the Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, European Society of Coloproctology, and Turkish Surgical Association.

Op. Dr. Merve Karlı has completed her medical education at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine, Bakırköy. She received her specialist training at Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital.

She has performed over 1000 operations in the fields of benign anorectal diseases, laparoscopic / open hernia surgery, breast diseases, trauma and emergency surgery. She has certifications on endoscopic procedures.

Prof. Dr. Engin Tutar was born in Istanbul in 1964. He completed his primary and secondary education at Istanbul Erkek Lisesi between 1975 and 1982, and graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988. In December of the same year, he started his specialization in the Department of Pediatrics at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital, becoming a specialist in Pediatrics in February 1993. He completed his subspecialty training in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a subspecialist in 2006. He served as the Assistant Chief Physician and Acting Chief Physician at the 2nd Pediatric Clinic of Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital between 2010 and 2012. In May 2012, he transferred to Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, where he became an Associate Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in 2014, and a Professor in 2020. Alongside his international and national article authorships, he has given over 50 presentations at congresses/courses/association meetings. He retired in May 2024 while serving as the head of the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition department at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. As of June 2024, he is accepting patients at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental.

Dr. Andrej Orságh is a gastroenterologist, certified in 2015. He has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute (NOÚ) since 2016. Since 2019 he has been the institute’s specialist consultant for colorectal cancer screening. He leads the colorectal cancer screening working group of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society. He is vice-chair of its Endoscopy Section and chair of its Oncology Section.

He graduated from Comenius University in 2009. He trained at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the University Hospital in Bratislava and at the Slovak Medical University. Since April 2010, he has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. He has led the department since 2017. He completed several specialized training courses abroad. He focuses on endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early tumors of the esophagus, stomach, colon, and rectum.

He served as chair of the Oncology Section of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society from 2018 to 2024. He is the current chair of its Endoscopy Section and a member of the Society’s committee. Dr. Daniela Osuská is a gastroenterologist. She graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, in 2010. From 2010 to 2019 she worked as a secondary physician at the Internal Medicine Clinic of Nitra University Hospital. There she began performing endoscopies. Since 2019 she has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. She earned her gastroenterology specialization in 2021.
