Thanks to the professor and his team, the department has been modernised by introducing modern surgical methods of treatment and especially improved methods of post-operative recovery. The Department of Surgery at the Solingen Clinic is now further expanding its focus on minimally invasive surgery in the direction of robotics. The clinic has allocated a huge budget for the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment in order to offer patients a full range of surgical methods for the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the oesophagus, lungs, stomach, liver, pancreas and intestines according to current guidelines and using the most modern technical equipment.

Professor Schenker is an active researcher and lecturer. He lectures at medical universities and organises seminars and workshops for colleagues. He cooperates closely with the Cancer Centre, the Pancreatic Cancer Treatment Centre, the Intestinal Cancer Treatment Centre and the Interregional Trauma Centre.

Professor Burhan Mayir isespecially interested in metabolic and bariatric surgery, also. He performs single port (scarless) sleeve gastrectomy, gastric by pass procedures and revisional bariatric surgeries. He has experience about metabolic-bariatric surgery, gastro-esophagus reflux surgery, endoscopic thyroid surgery (scarless thyroidectomy), cancer surgery, hernia surgery, adrenal gland surgery, other gastrointestinal surgical procedures, liver surgery, spleen surgery, hemorrhoid surgery and anal fissure surgery. Dr. Hakan Gök is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery in Abdominal Wall Surgery (FEBS AWS). He specializes in minimally invasive and laparoscopic hernia surgery. Since 2000, he has performed thousands of abdominal wall hernia procedures in Istanbul. This experience has made him a leading expert in his field.

Dr. Gök is a board member of the European Hernia Society. He is also a founding member of the Turkish Hernia Society. In addition, he serves as Treasurer and General Secretary of the Hernia School. He is involved with the British Hernia Society, International EndoHernia Society, and Turkish Surgical Association. His work shows his dedication to improving surgical standards worldwide.

Dr. Mustafa Sıtkı Yüksel is an experienced general surgeon. He specializes in obesity and metabolic surgery. He also performs advanced laparoscopic and cancer-related operations. Dr. Yüksel has completed over 2,000 bariatric surgeries. He has also performed many general surgery procedures, such as umbilical hernia repair, nephrectomy, small intestine resection, and thyroidectomy.

Dr. Yüksel received national board recognition in 2005 and 2016. He is a member of the Turkish Surgery Association, Colorectal Surgery Association, and Minimally Invasive Surgery Association. These memberships show his dedication to professional growth and high standards in his field.
