Professor Drach is a specialist in oncology with a PhD from the Medical University of Vienna. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Heinz Gisslinger is a leading hematologist and internal oncologist at the Medical University of Vienna and the Confraternität Private Clinic Josefstadt. He helped found the Laboratory for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms. He is Program Director for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and leads clinical and translational research.

He pioneered interferon therapy for myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). He first used it clinically in the 1980s and has advanced it for more than four decades. Dr. Walter Klepetko is a Professor and Head of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital. He is an expert in thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, surgery for bronchial carcinoma, and pulmonary hypertension.

He founded one of the world’s largest lung transplant programs. His team performs over 100 lung transplants each year. In 2018, Dr. Klepetko led the team that performed Niki Lauda’s lung transplant. He is a former president of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery. He also serves on the board of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Klepetko has received the Grand Decoration of Honor for services to the Austrian Republic. He was also awarded the City of Vienna Prize for Medical Sciences for his medical and scientific contributions.

Professor Michael Georgopoulos is a Senior Consultant in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna. He specializes in surgical diseases of the macula, retina, and vitreous body. He is known for advanced procedures such as macular opening, macular fold correction, vitreomacular traction syndrome, and retinal detachment surgeries. He also performs combined cataract and retinal surgeries. In addition, he manages cases of vitreous hemorrhage and opacification.

Dr. Georgopoulos is recognized for introducing seamless 23-gauge transconjunctival vitrectomy. Dr. Klaus Kaczirek is a senior physician at the Medical University of Vienna. He specializes in hepatobiliopancreatic, oncological visceral, and endocrine surgery. He holds a PhD in medicine and an advanced qualification in visceral surgery. Dr. Kaczirek has over 20 years of experience working in high-volume surgical centers.

He is an expert in complex surgeries involving the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, gastrointestinal system, and endocrine tumors. Since 2008, he has led the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas working group of the Austrian Society of Surgical Oncology.
