Professor Michael Georgopoulos is a Senior Consultant in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna. He specializes in surgical diseases of the macula, retina, and vitreous body. He is known for advanced procedures such as macular opening, macular fold correction, vitreomacular traction syndrome, and retinal detachment surgeries. He also performs combined cataract and retinal surgeries. In addition, he manages cases of vitreous hemorrhage and opacification.
Dr. Georgopoulos is recognized for introducing seamless 23-gauge transconjunctival vitrectomy. He also pioneered additive anti-VEGF therapy and the use of high-resolution 3D optical coherence tomography (HR-OCT) for pre- and postoperative assessment. He leads clinical research on postoperative cortisone therapy, comparison of surgical techniques, drug therapy for the vitreous body, and cytokine analysis in retinal diseases.
Dr. Stefan Sacu is an experienced ophthalmologist. He specializes in cataract and retinal surgery, as well as diseases of the macula and retina. Since 1999, he has worked at the Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Vienna. He is known for his research on new treatments for exudative macular diseases and genetic therapies for retinal disorders.
Dr. Sacu received the Theodor-Koerner Science Prize in 2003. He is an active member of the DGII and ESCRS. He has played a key role in clinical teaching. His published research on anti-VEGF therapies and retinal vein occlusions has established him as a leading expert in ophthalmology.
Dr. Kadir Colakoglu is an experienced ophthalmologist with 19 years in the field. He specializes in cataract surgery, corneal refractive surgery, refractive lens surgery, strabismus, oculoplastic surgery, medical retina, and glaucoma.
He has performed many advanced procedures, such as cataract surgery with IOL replacement, LASIK, vitrectomy, and Botox injections. Dr. Colakoglu holds several certificates and accreditations in ophthalmology and is known for his clinical skills.
He is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, Turkish Ophthalmology Association, and Conscious Hypnosis Association. His memberships show his dedication to ongoing learning and quality patient care.
