Ergun Tozkoparan

Dr. Tozkoparan conducts research into the physiological markers of lung disease. In 2007, he published a paper in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM). His study, "Changes in platelet count and indices in pulmonary tuberculosis," identified critical biomarkers. He discovered that active tuberculosis patients have significantly higher platelet indices. These values decrease with anti-tuberculous therapy. This work established a link between radiological extent and laboratory results.
