Dr. Üçüncü has published over 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research appears in Biomolecules, European Radiology, and the Turkish Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery. Furthermore, he has investigated the diagnostic significance of PDGF, EphA7, CCR5, and CCL5 levels in colorectal cancer. Other research topics include standardized laparoscopic sphincter-preserving total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer and surgical trends in Turkey.

His study on breast cancer trends showed an increase in breast-conserving surgery. Dr. Üçüncü also researched the effect of dexketoprofene trometamol on post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis. Additionally, he studied the diagnostic and prognostic significance of carboxypeptidase A4 (CPA4) in breast cancer. These studies demonstrate his focus on gastrointestinal diseases and oncology.

He has presented findings at the SIS World Congress and European Congress of Trauma. He shared his experience with male breast cancer at the 34th ESSO Congress. The doctor also evaluated gastric inflammatory parameters caused by pyloric ring failure in a 2019 study. His academic work further includes research on fibromyalgia in irritable bowel syndrome patients.
